ABSTRACT Buddha’s teachings is a pure explanation of the true nature of life and the world . And must be distinguished between the original teachings of the Buddha and growing religion based on the teachings so-called ‘ Buddhism ‘ . Buddha’s teachings developed also in Mataram syncretising with other teachings that creates its own color in the community . This paper discusses the existence of the monk , the development , the contribution of Buddhism and Buddhist teachings patterns in Mataram . Using the theory of social change , theory of symbolic interaction of representation . Descriptive qualitative approach . determination of the informant with the snowball technique . Bhante no longer be silent in the temple but pursuing education and have the freedom to go into the community or re-entry into the Order .In Buddhism there are two great traditions, they are Theravada and Mahayana , which later evolved into the Tantric sect that it become welknown latter . The tepresentations of the Buddism in Mataram is as an adhesives , culture facilitate the people to interact with The Buddha through prayer Bud and with Vihara through Bhante.
